Musician

 

Dr Sharon Lierse is a cellist and flautist who enjoys performing solo recitals, chamber music and orchestral works. She studied the cello from Henry Wenig and Nelson Cooke, and her flute teachers were Leslie Barklamb and Margaret Crawford. She has also learnt the double bass, bassoon, the harp and most recently the kantele.

As a performer, she has toured Australia, Asia and Europe as a soloist and chamber musician.

She has been awarded Fellowship for Performance by Trinity Guildhall London, Teacher of Music with Distinction and the inaugural Australian Society for Music Education prize from the Australian Music Examinations Board, and has been twice awarded Licentiate in Performance.
