Research

Dr Lierse’s primary research interest is in excellence in education. She has investigated characteristics of outstanding university lecturers and is now researching systems of excellence with the focus on Finland and Asia.

Other research areas are instrumental music in the private studio and institutions, music pedagogies, the performing arts, the performing arts in Asia, lecturing in the online environment and educational systems. She has presented papers and has been published in these areas. Her research fields are education, arts education, music education, curriculum, assessment, psychology, sociology, anthropology, critical theory and business.
